"Letter From Home" 28" x 20" Mixed medium: Wood, metal, paper collage - SOLD
This piece has roots back to many earlier works of mine in which I reflected on our transformation into the digital age, of the sweeping external evolution…
of the challenging psychological adaptations. —
So, “Letter From Home” has a thread to other works on this website such as: Anchorage, Midnight Choir, Farthing’s Passage, Crux, Jaunt, and Reach.
-------
It seems to me that the beloved ol’ mailbox is sort of an archetype for “communication & connection”.
It’s still standing out there serving us, leaning into the digital maelstrom…(for who knows how much longer)…
I’ve intended the red flag to be more than a wave to a mail-carrier, I hoped it might load in an emotional signal for the viewer… leaving us wondering if the communiqué within the box is a lonesome call for help to resources far away...or rather,
a supporting note of strength going out to someone amidst that storm… a ‘letter from home’.
